My name is Amy Barker, I am your 2010-2011 PTA President. I would like to give you some quick information about PTA.
It is $6.00 to join PTA at Lone Star. By joining PTA you are not committing yourself to volunteer! Joining PTA is only financially supporting PTA. We greatly appreciate your financial support, it helps fund free or low cost events, for example, FCAT Breakfast, Bike Rodeo, Teacher Appreciation Luncheon, Family Fun Nights, 5th grade Party, Multicultural Parade, Author Assemblies and much more! You can find descriptions of each of these events under the Programs tab on this website.
If you would like to volunteer, you will find a form to express your volunteer interests to us, in your first day packet. You can always contact me by email abarker1215@yahoo.com with any PTA questions or if you would like to volunteer. We always need volunteers even if you only have an hour for the whole year to spend, WE WILL APPRECIATE IT and your kids will benefit greatly from it.

Out of the $6.00 you pay to join Lone Star PTA, $3.00 goes to State and National PTA. The other $3.00 stays at Lone Star. Any donations given to PTA 100% stay at Lone Star!
Some of the items we have budgeted for this year are.
Grandparents Tea - $300.00 Bike Rodeo $250.00
Author Assemblies $1200.00 FCAT Breakfast- $1000.00
Teacher Incentives - $500.00 Family Fun Night - $300.00
Fall Festival- $200.00 5th Grade Party- $800.00
Our budget is available for viewing/discussion at our first General Meeting. The third Thursday in August at 7p.m.
